Notice is hereby given that pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-540, and the Charter for the City of Williamson, a special election shall be held in the city of Williamson, for the office of City Council Member Post 5 to fill the unexpired term of Steve Davis, who resigned on February 10, 2026.
The Special Election shall be held in conjunction with the State General Primary at the Williamson Library on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, with the Polls being open from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Advance Voting for the special election shall be held at the J. Joel Edwards Public Library in Zebulon.
Qualifying for the special election shall begin on March 4, 2026, 8:00 AM and will close on March 6, 2026. 12:00 PM. Candidates desiring to qualify may do so at the Office of the City Clerk of Williamson. The qualifying fee shall be $25.00.
Voters who are not currently registered to vote must register with the Pike County Board of Elections located at 81 Jackson St., Zebulon before the close of business April 20, 2026.
